FM Conway has been awarded a £4.7m contract to manage the London Borough of Bromley's highways drainage cleansing.
Under this new agreement, FM Conway is expected to proactively and reactively maintain the borough's 35,000 gullies, 2,500 soakaways, 350 manholes and catch pits, along with ‘various linear or kerb drainage channels'.
The contract started on 3 July and will run until 31 March 2033, with a possible extension to 31 March 2035 bringing the total run time to just shy of nine months.
The maintenance of the borough's highway drainage was previously provided by J B Riney & Co. under a wider contract that covered minor reactive works and winter services, along with drainage cleansing. Awarded in 2018, this contract ran for eight years and was valued at £2.8m
