200 up for 20mph campaign group

Road safety group 20’s Plenty for Us has launched its 200^th campaign in Bradford on Avon in Wiltshire.

More than 12 million people live in local authorities committed to 20mph limits including Portsmouth, Oxford, Newcastle, Middlesbrough, Manchester, Birmingham, York, Bristol, Camden, Liverpool, Brighton, Bath, Warrington, Islington and Lancashire.

Rosie Meachin and Alex Machin are leading the latest group.

Rod King, founder of 20’s Plenty for Us, said: “Our 200^th local campaign is a proud landmark. It is testament to so many people wanting 20mph limits and safer, cleaner, quieter streets.”

Anna Semlyen, 20’s Plent for Us campaign manager, added: “We support hundreds of community activists wanting the roads where they live, work, shop or go to learn to be more civilised. We help train them to be better campaigners with phone and email support as well as providing facts to write authoritatively to local councillors who have the power to set 20mph limits.”
