Birmingham City Council is seeking to appoint suppliers to a transport and infrastructure professional services framework, with an estimated value of up to £480m.
Intended to be a multi-supplier, multi-disciplinary contract, the framework is expected to cover all services required to design and deliver highways and infrastructure projects for the council.
A maximum of four suppliers will be awarded to the contract, with all companies required to bring ‘national and international experience’, along with innovative solutions, to deliver ‘added value’ to the council’s customers and the general public.
Birmingham City Council has also said that the framework will be made available to other local public bodies based within the East Midlands and West Midlands.
The council has said that the framework will run for up to eight years, starting on 26 January 2026 and ending on 25 January 2034.
One aspect of the framework highlighted by the council was that it does not plan to divide it into lots. It said that it ‘intended to access specialist services via the four suppliers and their supply chains’.
The deadline to enquire about this framework is currently set for 7 November 2025, with tenders then due for submission by 19 November. An announcement of the successful applicants is expected to be made by the council on 6 January 2026.
