Alun Griffiths is in line for a £40m contract with Worcestershire County Council for infrastructure engineering work.
The contract will run for one year and five months from 30 June 2025 to 15 December 2026.
It will see the contractor undertake construction, foundation and surface works for new and existing highways infrastructure within the county.
While this is a new contract with Alun Griffiths, Worcestershire CC stated that it would be 'following on from a previous contract awarded in 2018'.
The authority announced a direct award for the £40m deal, with no further tenders accepted by the council.
When approached for comment, the council said: 'Under the newly implemented Procurement Act 2023, a Transparency Notice must be published prior to the award of a contract. Worcestershire County Council issued this notice [on the 30 June]. The purpose of the notice is to outline the legal basis on which the contracting authority intends to make the award, and it forms part of a defined statutory process.
'This process, which includes internal governance, may take several weeks to complete, and must be concluded and agreed upon before any contract can be formally awarded.'
