Scott Dale has been appointed National Highways's new chief financial officer (CFO).
After initially taking on the job on an interim basis in March, he has now had confirmation he will replace his predecessor Vanessa Howlison permanently.
The role of CFO includes being a member of the National Highways Board and Executive.
Mr Dale has held senior roles at Deloitte and Accenture and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales.
National Highways chief executive Nick Harris, said: 'Scott is a highly experienced finance professional, and I would like to thank him for all his hard work as our interim CFO and Board member.
'I am now looking forward to continuing our work as we build on our strong track record of delivering efficiency and improvements in National Highways.'
Mr Dale said: 'I am very proud to take on the role and look forward to playing my part in our purpose of connecting the country.
'We have massive capability to support and realise that purpose and I see a great opportunity to keep building on our strong financial and operational foundation. This is key while strengthening our adaptability to become a value-for-money service provider.'
Sir Gareth Rhys Williams, National Highways Board Chair, said Mr Dale was selected by a panel of internal and DfT interviewers and beat a strong field of external candidates.
