Frenchman Eric Gosse has been appointed as the new CEO of Swedish bitumen supplier Nynas AB.
Mr Gosse (pictured) is expected to join the firm in September, taking over the role of CEO from Stein Ivar Bye, who has been president and acting CEO since May 2022.
The firm described him as having a strong track record from senior executive positions, including 25 years at TotalEnergies, with responsibilities in both the Bitumen and Fuel & Lubes businesses.
He currently serves as a member of the VIVO Energy executive committee with responsibility for supply, distribution and business development.
Nynas said that during his time as acting CEO, Mr Bye had focused on a company transformation process with the aim of making the company more financially resilient as a strong base for future success.
Mr Bye said: ‘Eric Gosse comes with a strong industry background and a broad international experience in executive positions. I am delighted that he is now joining Nynas as the CEO and I am confident that his leadership will ensure that Nynas transformation journey continues at a high pace.’
Mr Gosse also said he was delighted to join Nynas as CEO and was ‘committed to firmly continue the transformation journey Nynas has embarked on’.
He added: ‘I am enthusiastic about the opportunity to write a new page of the company near centenary history with all Nynas stakeholders.’
Mr Gosse has an engineering degree from the École Centrale de Paris and a master’s degree in finance.
Nynas said Mr Bye will continue his engagement in the company and support it as chairman of the board.
