Highways England signs up for Highways SIB

09/05/2016 | HIGHWAYS REPORTERS

Highways England will be the primary event partner at this year’s Highways SIB (Seeing is Believing).

The government-owned company, which is responsible for the running of England’s motorways and A-roads, will support the event’s conference programme and have a strong presence in the indoor area.

Highways England operations director Mike Wilson said: "Highways SIB (Seeing is Believing) is a great opportunity for us to engage with existing and potential partners in the highways industry as we deliver £15 billion investment in England’s motorways and major A roads by 2021. We look forward to meeting exhibitors and visitors at the event later this year and sharing more about our plans and ongoing projects.”

Highways Magazine editor Alec Peachey added: “We’re delighted that Highways England has agreed to be the primary event partner at this year’s Highways SIB (Seeing is Believing). Highways England is at the core of delivering the government’s Road Investment Strategy and we’re looking forward to hearing from key personnel at this year’s event.
“I’d encourage anyone that hasn’t already signed up as either an exhibitor or visitor to take a look at the event’s new format. With the creation of an ‘integrated’ conference featuring workshops and roundtable discussions, alongside the industry-leading exhibition and outdoor demonstrations in all lighting conditions, we’re confident that this year’s event will be the best yet.”

HighwaysSIB logo resizedHighways SIB is Europe’s only event for indoor showcasing of highway products as well as outdoor demonstrations in all lighting conditions.

This year’s event is taking place at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire from 9-10 November and exhibitors will be given increased visibility via the introduction of a two-way street with companies invited to display their products.

To make things even easier products will be highlighted in clearly defined zones that are the most relevant to participating exhibitors. The introduction of designated drop-off points and a new SIB App will ensure that visitors are encouraged to take a closer look at the products and services on display. The zones (subject to change) are: Maintenance matters; Making our mark; Safety in action; Signage solutions; A smarter network; Lighting the way – which will complement the popular showpiece demonstrations taking place on the fully marked motorway area of the track.

Highways SIB (Seeing is Believing) is brought to you by Highways Magazine – the UK's ONE and only magazine dedicated to the highway maintenance and traffic management industry – and Smart Highways Magazine – the UK's only ITS and advanced traffic management magazine.
