J Hopkins Contractors have received a £5.7m loan from OakNorth to acquire a new company headquarters in Irlam, City of Salford.
The new 6.4-acres site, which is 10 miles from Manchester City Centre, has been purchased with the hope that it will allow the civil engineering company to accelerate revenue growth. It also plans to use the additional space to expand its plant and equipment to improve efficiency and service delivery.
Noel Hopkins, managing director of J Hopkins Contractors, commented: ‘Ever since we were founded in 1973, our mission is to lead the civil engineering and construction industry by example.
'The acquisition of the new site is a significant milestone for our company, providing the space and resources needed to support our long-term growth strategy. OakNorth's understanding of our business, Greater Manchester’s contractor and infrastructure market and flexible approach to financing have been instrumental in making this possible.’
Stewart Haworth, director of debt finance at OakNorth, added: ‘J Hopkins Contractors exemplifies the type of resilient, growth-oriented business that OakNorth is committed to supporting.
'With contractor revenue set for growth over the next five years, driven by major infrastructure programs, the firm’s strategic acquisition of the Irlam site positions them perfectly to capitalise on this tailwind and drive continued success in the infrastructure sector. We are delighted to provide Noel and his team with a tailored financing solution that meets their current needs and supports their future ambitions.’
