Web makes it easier to report potholes

Stockport Council revamped its highways website to make it easier for residents to report potholes and broken streeetlights.

The new web pages allow users easier access to important information, including online forms to report faulty street lights and potholes as well as details of planned highway works and inspections taking place throughout the borough.

The new pages also give details of gritting routes, local grit bins and provide useful winter travel advice to residents.

Residents can also report problems via the free ‘Looking Local’ iPhone and Smart phone app.

Cllr Iain Roberts, Executive Member for Transportation at Stockport Council, said: “The launch of the new web pages, as part of the Streets Ahead initiative means that residents can access vital information and report problems easily using the new online forms on our website.

“In addition to this the Council’s Looking Local phone app allows residents to report problems whilst out and about meaning that they don’t have to wait to get home to report a problem.”
