Highways Reporters

A British road nicknamed "The Widowmaker" has been named as one of ten of the most dangerous in the world.

The Sun reports that the 7.5 mile stretch of the A537 "Cat and Fiddle" road between Macclesfield and Buxton is considered to be the most dangerous road in Britain, having had 44 serious or fatal crashes between 2007-2011.

The report lists ten roads in the world seen as very dangerous to draw attention to the 1.3 million people killed on the roads every year around the world.

Among others on the list are Bolivia's famous "Road of Death" and Skippers Canyon Road in New Zealand.
