Development of traffic and logistics planning company PTV Group has completed a 12-month trial with the Land Transport Authority of Singapore (LTA) using PTV Optima.
PTV said that the aim of the trial is to evaluate PTV’s integrated system of real-time traffic decision support and microscopic traffic simulation in traffic monitoring and management.
PTV’s holistic solution aims to simulate traffic conditions in real time, predict short-term forecasts of future traffic conditions, and thereby evaluate and recommend the best traffic response plans to deal with daily planned roadworks as well as incidents. The solution includes an integrated microsimulation environment evaluating varying traffic conditions and dependencies in the network.
Omid Ejtemai, PTV Group’s Managing Director of Asia Pacific said, “We are delighted to participate in this trial. During the past 12 months, we demonstrated that our platform provides short-term traffic predictions using our world-class PTV Optima technology combined with real-time data. We believe that predicting traffic conditions enables operators not only to monitor the road network but also make informed decisions and implement the best possible traffic strategies.”
Also in Singapore will be 2019's ITS World Congress. Before it starts, why not listen to the second pre-congress Talking Transport podcast? It brings you a second scene-setter for Singapore talking platooning, mapping, mobility and the next generation. These podcasts are sponsored by AGD Systems, Cohda Wireless, HERE Technologies, Jenoptik, PTV Group, SWARCO and WSP. You can listen here.
