In the first All Roads Lead podcast of 2025 we look at the latest edition of Highways, our 90th birthday special issue from December 2024.

Chris Ames asks Dominic Browne how he put together the cover (right) and the cover story, which looks back at some of the themes and issues that seem to have persisted since 1934.

It's a gripping tale involving the hiding place of Lord Lucan, a cyber attack on the British Library and the forging of the Hitler Diaries by Alexei Sayle.

We also look ahead to some of the stories that we plan to feature in our forthcoming January/February 2025 issue, out early next month.

Subjects that we plan to cover include the current Department for Transport review of how it appraises big infrastructure projects and how the Labour government's devolution agenda might affect the sector.
