IAT announces new executive director

The Institute of Asphalt Technology (IAT) has announced the appointment of Sandy Sykes as its new executive director.

Ms Sykes has previously worked at the consulting company of industry stalwart Neil Levett as a senior marketing consultant and before that was involved in event management in the transport sector.

An IAT spokesperson said that Ms Sykes brings 'a wealth of experience and expertise, along with a strong commitment to supporting the continued growth and success' of the institute.

In a press statement, the IAT added: 'Her appointment marks an exciting step forward as we strengthen our connections with members and stakeholders, ensuring that the IAT remains at the forefront of industry development and maintains its position as a leader in professional development, education and training in our sector.

'We are confident that Sandy’s contribution will inspire new opportunities and initiatives for the benefit of our members and the wider industry. We warmly welcome Sandy to the IAT and look forward to a bright future together.'

She will work closely with the president, vice president, Council, and the nine branches of the IAT in her new role, helping to advance its mission of 'promoting excellence, innovation, and collaboration across the asphalt sector'.
