Six firms including five SMEs have won places on a highways minor works framework agreement with Leicestershire County Council and Leicester City Council worth a total of £14m.
The work is divided into four lots and is described as being of a jobbing/patching/minor works nature associated with the maintenance and improvement of the highway network.
All four lots will operate for an initial two-year duration, commencing in October 2019; and the councils will have the option to extend any of them by a further two years, depending on performance.
DJT Surfacing secured positions on all four lots, which will see it deliver task orders issued by both councils on both a day-work basis and as a planned programme of works.
Jo Salmon, group services director, said: 'We will support Leicestershire County Council and Leicester City Council to carry-out our task orders in the safest and most considerate way.
‘This contract award builds on DJT Surfacing’s experience of delivering similar services to both Bedford Borough Council and Central Bedfordshire Council.’
