The Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) has invited tenders for a highway maintenance and capital works contract with an estimated value of up to £114.8m.
The contract, which would run for seven years from April 2026 until March 2033 and a possible extension to March 2040, would involve the maintenance and repair of 375m of road network, 497m of footways, over 300 bridge structures and 26,000 road drains, amongst other aspects of the network.
In the tender document, RBWM states that its highway network is a ‘key community asset, supporting both the local and national economy, contributing to the character and environment of the borough’.
It also adds: ‘Efficient transport links are vital for a thriving population and economy, providing access to employment, education, healthcare, retail outlets and leisure and to all the other services and supplies we rely upon to support our needs.
‘Maintenance of the network is vital to ensure it can continue to provide the principal element of the overall transport network.’
With an enquiry deadline of 30 May 2025 at 1pm and a Tender submission deadline of 24 June 2025 at 1pm, any contractors interested in submitting should do so at public.bravosolution.co.uk.
