The organisers of next month’s TRAFIC 2019 say it is once again proving itself to be Southern Europe’s benchmark fair for safe and sustainable mobility.
The event, organised by IFEMA and taking place place from 8 to 11 October at Feria de Madrid has a number of participants including Casli, Inventarios y Proyectos de Señalización, and Teslec Norte; while smart mobility is represented by Enagás Emprende, Parkare Group, and Saima Seguridad; Equinsa Parking, and Skidata Ibérica are demonstrating parking products while in traffic management companies include Grupo Tecnología del Tráfico, Kineo Ingeniería del Tráfico, PTV Traffic and Transportation Software, and Setga. Industrias Saludes, Tradesegur, Coyote System and Horizont Group are also represented.
The organisers say government participation will be strong again this year with Spain’s Ministry for Ecological Transition, which is participating for the first time, and the Interior Ministry, through the DGT (General Directorate for Traffic), which is usually present at the Fair, and Madrid City Council, which will take part both in the Fair and in its parallel Technical Workshops programme.
“TRAFIC will be a place to find responses to the challenges facing the sector in a rapidly changing environment,” the organisers say in a statement. “It will be structured around the sectors for infrastructure, road safety, car parks, smart mobility and traffic management.
“TRAFIC 2019 will provide a meeting place for leading firms in the industry (including vehicle manufacturers, MaaS providers, intelligent transportation system companies, consultants, financial entities and insurance companies, and energy and battery suppliers), as well as major mobility-related entities and associations, and various public administrations.
Pere Navarro, head of the Spanish Directorate-General for Traffic said, “TRAFIC is a benchmark trade fair for mobility. As always, my interest lies in learning about new products and solutions offered by the exhibitors to enable safe and environmentally-friendly travel by road and in cities’.
Alongside the strong endorsement of the Ministry of the Interior, through the DGT, TRAFFIC also enjoys the support of the Ministry of Development and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Tourism, as well as the Catalan Transport Service, Madrid City Council, the EMT, ITS ESPAÑA, ACEX, ASESGA, SEOPAN, the Asociación Técnica de Carreteras and Connected Mobility Hub.
