The Transport Systems Catapult (TSC) has announced the appointment of former Arup Group Chairman Terry Hill, CBE, FREng as its new Chairman.
Mr Hill will move from his existing role of non-executive Director to succeed the TSC's incumbent Chairman, Will Whitehorn, with effect from 1st April.
Will Whitehorn has served as Chairman of the TSC since its inception in 2013, and has stepped down following his appointment as Deputy Chairman of Stagecoach Group PLC.
Terry Hill has been a non-executive Director of the TSC since 2013, alongside his roles as a Trustee of the Arup Group Owning Trusts and non-executive Director of Crossrail Ltd. He was President of the International Organisation for Standardisation for two years, 2013-2014, and also a founder member of the UK Treasury's Infrastructure UK Advisory Council. An engineer and economist, Hill's career prior to chairing Arup Group was in transport planning and leading major transport programmes.
