Ford owned scooter company Spin and Transit app have announced their partnership to enable multimodal trip planning.
Users in Austin, Portland, Los Angeles and Baltimore will benefit from the new partnership.
Curbed Austin reports that commuters will be able to incorporate Spin scooters in their commutes in a more efficient manner, if they use public transportation and the Transit app.
Transit gives users the ability to map routes on public transportation and access other forms of mobility, such as scooters. During this pilot integration, Transit users can incorporate Spin into their trip routes to and from train and bus stations and stops.
Transit’s multimodal trip planner, called Transit Plus, enables uses to enter starting locations and destinations and get suggested routes that combine Spin and public transit. They can reserve the Spin scooter while on a bus or train, making the switch smoother, according to Curber Austin.
In order to celebrate the partnership, Spin said Transit users in Los Angeles, Baltimore, Portland and Austin will receive $5 in ride credit when they sign up for Spin.
