You will be reporting to the Senior Engineer and working as part of a busy, friendly team, you will help to ensure the Council fulfils its duties as a local highway authority under the Highways Act 1980 in accordance with the new Code of Practice 'Well-managed Highways Infrastructure'.
As a Highways Inspector, you will be responsible for the delivery and maintenance of our existing highways infrastructure. You will be part of a team carrying out scheduled highways safety inspections. You will inspect and gather information about the conditions of our Highways network and responsible for your designated area, reporting on defects in the Public Highway and arranging repairs for network safety and serviceability.
We are looking for a self-motivated individual with excellent observation skills and is conscientious. The role requires good time management skills, and ability to work on own initiative and to tight deadlines. The role is diverse and will require you to be flexible with an ability to work under pressure. We are a customer-facing team, you will have good experience liaising with customers and the ability to deal with customers in a kind and friendly manner within Hackney's diverse community.

Salary: £28,752 - £32,577
