A free series of masterclass webinars is on offer to the transport and infrastructure sector, catering for general managers as well as providing best practice and a level of complexity useful to engineering professionals.
Developed by Platipus Anchors, a leading provider of the design, manufacture and supply of percussion driven earth anchors (PDEA), the first webinar in February was designed for the rail sector and covered a comprehensive range of solutions for earthworks applications.
This month’s ‘industry specific’ webinar, taking place on 18 March, will cover all things ‘roads and bridges’.
Darren Cavedaschi, marketing manager at Platipus Anchors, said: 'This webinar is aimed at engineers, designers and contractors working on local and national road network projects.
'It is a fantastic opportunity for anybody that works in this sector to improve their knowledge and gain a practical insight on how PDEA can be used on a range of temporary or permanent applications from erosion control, shallow slides, deep-seated failures and cut face slopes through to sheet piles, retaining walls and bridges.'
For over 40 years Platipus Anchors has provided PDEA with a wide range of diverse applications to different industry sectors.
A spokesperson for Platipus Anchors said: 'The PDEA System is a unique solution that is rapidly deployed in most displaceable soils.
'It offers a lightweight corrosion resistant anchor that can be driven from ground level using conventional portable equipment. It can be stressed to an exact holding capacity and made fully operational immediately.
'As a completely grout-free and dry solution, it also has minimal environmental impact.'
Platipus will also demonstrate its unique Plati-Drain solution and how it can be incorporated to manage pore water within slopes and hydrostatic pressure behind earth retaining structures through the creation of drainage pathways.
Illustrated by relevant case studies and engaging animations, the talk will be followed by an interactive Q&A session.
