Professional services consulting firm WSP has announced the appointment of Paul Reilly as president and managing director for its UK and Ireland business, with effect from January 2025.
The announcement coincides with the appointment of Mark Naysmith, currently president for WSP’s EMEIA region, as global chief operating officer, also effective from January.
Mr Reilly (pictured right and above) is currently deputy CEO for the firm’s UK & Ireland business. In 2022, he became managing director for planning and advisory and will now join WSP’s Global Leadership Team.
In his new role, he will drive its strategic priorities and client delivery across infrastructure, environment, water, property and energy.
Mr Reilly said: ‘I look forward to working with our talented teams as we deliver impactful solutions for our clients and communities and further advance our industry leadership.’
WSP said that with over 35 years at the firm, Mr Naysmith (pictured, below right) brings extensive experience and a proven track record of driving operational excellence and strategic growth.
In his new role, he will oversee global operations, with a remit of driving growth, financial performance, and collaboration across WSP’s regions worldwide.
He said: ‘It has been a pleasure to lead the EMEIA region, working with so many great colleagues and clients to deliver truly remarkable projects.
‘Paul’s understanding of our UK and Ireland business and his commitment to client success make him an outstanding choice to take the reins.
'I am confident that under his leadership the business will continue to grow and flourish as a world-class consultancy and market leader in the UK and Ireland.’
WSP provides engineering, planning, design and advisory services to public and private sector clients in the transportation and infrastructure, property and buildings, earth and environment, power and energy, resources and industry sectors.
