Leading road marking firm WJ has officially opened a new state of the art depot in Wellington, Somerset.
The facility has been built on a two-acre site with secure parking for the firm’s growing fleet of specialist road marking vehicles. It has a 9,700 square foot modern building for operations, vehicle maintenance, training and administration. The building has been fitted with 60kW Solar PV (Photovoltaic Panels) and an interceptor drainage system.
Terry Trevelyan, WJ South West managing director, said: “This surely is the most advanced depot of its kind in Europe, providing a facility that is safe, more efficient and has adequate space to grow. I am very proud of our new home.”
According to the company, operatives now benefit from modern welfare provision and electronic job allocation whilst clients are afforded better information from the latest tracking and reporting systems.
As an integral part of the opening ceremony, WJ delivered their fourth regional innovation day – its second in the West Country.

The road show event was attended by around 150 delegates from across the South West, supported by the Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) with a programme of CPD endorsed technical presentations, followed by practical demonstrations providing a real understanding of WJ’s ambition to find better ways to do things.
