AppyParking, the kerbside management and smart parking technology firm, and the City of London Corporation have confirmed the launch of real-time occupancy of accessible bays across the City.
AppyParking’s smart sensor solution will allow Blue Badge holders to use its mobile app to see the locations of accessible bays across the City of London and also check to see if they’re available.
In addition the app also shows the location, rules and prices for all on and off-street parking in the Square Mile. Motorists are able to link through to commonly used navigation apps such as Waze or Google Maps from AppyParking and drive directly to the parking space of their choice.
AppyParking says that its analytics platform will also, for the first time ever, give the Parking Services Team at the City Corporation, the ability to see exactly how the accessible bays are being used and view parking data in one centralised system. The data intends to better inform future parking and transport policy decisions that impact kerbside access for vulnerable road users and improve enforcement operations.
