Birse wins £10.5m of work from Highways Agency

Birse Civils has won £10.5m worth of new work from the Highways Agency.

The contracts on the M1 and M62 as well as two separate contracts on the A64 will be carried out by Birse Civils’ North East Region which is based in Tadcaster.

The M62 Junction 24 to 25 Lighting Renewal and Replacement project will involve the replacement of around 320 street lights with new energy efficient units as well as the installation of 10,000 metres of new safety fencing.

On the A64 Birse will be carrying out two projects in the North Yorkshire area.

The first of the schemes involves carriageway resurfacing between the villages of Ganton and East Heslerton.

The second scheme is the Brambling Fields Junction Improvement, which will improve the access and egress onto the A64 dual carriageway near Malton and will include the construction of a new off slip road and roundabout.

Birse Civils will also be making a return to Junction 40 to 41 of the M1, nine months after the successful delivery of the J41-42 Central Barrier Works, to carry out the M1 Junction 40 to 41 routine technology upgrade.
