A-one+ will continue to maintain and respond to issues on Yorkshire and the Humber’s roads after winning a new contract with Highways England.
The contract, which will run from 7 June, will ensure the region’s strategic roads in Area 12 are well maintained and safe to use for the 270,000 businesses and 5,000,000 people based in the region.
A-one+ will provide routine highway maintenance services, emergency incident response and severe weather services, as well as renewal and small scale improvement projects, on the Yorkshire and Humber network.
The company retained the contract in December last year. The new contract model will focus more on the long-term effective maintenance and development of the highways assets.
Highways England service delivery team leader for Yorkshire and the Humber, Roger Wantling, said: “This new way of working will allow us build on what we have already committed on Yorkshire’s motorways and major A-roads.
“The new contract model will focus on safety, keeping our network in a good, safe and serviceable condition while offering value for money to our customers, as well as putting our customers and partners at the heart of what we do.
“I would like to congratulate A-one+ on winning the contract and I look forward to continuing to work with them in the future to deliver first class services for drivers.”
A-one+ Area 12 general manager Brian Statham added: “I am delighted that A-one+ has been successful in the award of the new Area 12 asset support contract. This gives us a great opportunity to build on the achievements of the last contract, working collaboratively with safety, customer and delivery at the forefront in everything we do.”
