GATEway showcases driverless grocery deliveries

The GATEway Project, led by TRL and industry leaders, has teamed up with Ocado Technology to trial driverless grocery deliveries to real customers in Greenwich using CargoPod, an autonomous last-mile delivery vehicle developed by Oxbotica.



The study is focusing on the interplay between commercial opportunities for self-driving vehicles and how communities understand and accept such vehicles on their streets, providing services that are usually offered by human driven vehicles.

CargoPod has been showcased in Greenwich making driverless deliveries.

Oxbotica designed and built CargoPod, and developed the autonomous software that it uses to navigate and make deliveries. Selenium is Oxbotica's autonomous operating system, and in this trial, Caesium is being used to schedule and receive deliveries.
