Northamptonshire County Council has appointed the firm to build the £34m, four-mile long dual carriageway designed to galvanise Corby’s regeneration.
The scheme was one of 20 given initial approval in the Chancellor’s Autumn Statement at the end of last year.
It is understood to have attracted bids from Irish contractors John Sisk, Lagan and John Paul as well as Hochtief and Birse.
Interserve will start work on site next month to allow the road to open to traffic in early 2014.
The route will connect the existing A43 near Stanion to the A6003 near Barford Bridge.
Council leader Jim Harker said: “As a county council we are committed to laying the foundations to facilitate economic growth and I see this scheme as essential to unlocking development in Corby and the surrounding area.
“Providing a major route into this part of the county also reduces congestion on other local roads on the network, which improves road safety, particularly in Geddington which has campaigned for such a scheme for many years.”
The Government is contributing £20.6m with Northamptonshire County Council raising the rest of the cash from section 106 contributions from developers.
