Mojio hires former GM exec for connected car projects

The technology platform for connected vehicles, Mojio has appointed former GM executive Dr Alan Messer as its new Chief Technology Officer.

The company says Dr Messer, who led software strategies as CTO of the Global Connected Consumer Experience unit and VP of Software and Innovation at General Motors, “will will harness the power of Mojio’s growing pool of automotive big data – currently at more than seven billion miles worth of aggregated driving behaviour and diagnostic data – to maximise the value of machine learning and artificial intelligence within the organisation”. As a result, it says, Mojio will “empower its customers and partners, which span the entire automotive value chain, with the ability to leverage actionable insights, and unlock new revenue streams”.

The company is also introducing the expansion of its Made for Mojio hardware certification programme to include what it says is a nearly limitless range of telematics hardware and smart, connected devices, enabling coverage of older makes and models via OBD-II devices and newer connected vehicles with embedded telematics control units.

“Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs can look to Mojio’s demonstrated ability to deliver telco-grade solutions to more than 700,000 cars and drivers around the world as an example of how connected car services can simultaneously improve business value and the customer experience,” it says.
