Andrew Bruce has been confirmed as the new managing director for Waterman Aspen.
Having started out at Gateshead Council in 2005 working in scheme design as a highways and traffic technician, Mr Bruce moved to Newcastle City Council as a senior technician before being promoted to area traffic engineer in 2007.
He joined Waterman Aspen in 2008. At the engineering and technical specialist secondment company, Mr Bruce moved quickly up the ranks from area manager through associate, regional and divisional director levels to become a director in 2022. Mr Bruce officially became managing director on 1 August.
His predecessor, Mark Emberton, has taken on the chief operating officer (COO) UK job after almost 35 years with the company.
Mr Bruce said: ‘I’m excited about the future for Waterman Aspen and our industry. We have a fantastic opportunity to embrace new technologies, continue to evolve as a business and further strengthen the relationships we have with all of our valued clients across the UK.’
Mr Emberton added: ‘Waterman Aspen is in great shape, and I am proud to have been part of its journey so far. I am confident that Andrew will excel in his new role and receive the full support he needs in this fantastic company made up of great people. Please join me in wishing him all the very best.’
