Autonomous vehicle software company Oxbotica has announced the appointment of its new CEO, Ozgur Tohumcu.
As CEO, Mr Tohumcu will be responsible for driving the strategy to deliver Oxbotica’s ‘Universal Autonomy’ vision globally with customers and deployments across industries where autonomy will be a key enabler.
The move follows a number of other key announcements Oxbotica has recently made, including a strategic partnership with Addison Lee to collaborate on the deployment of autonomous vehicle services and the completion of a £14 million funding round in September 2018.
Ozgur was previously CEO of Tantalum Corporation, a leader in the vehicle digital commerce marketplace, bringing together connected car service providers and end-users on its open data exchange cloud platform. Before that, he was SVP of Digital, IT and Cloud at Ericsson, and has over 20 years’ experience managing the development and implementation of complex software solutions within the automotive, smart mobility, telecoms and digital industries.
The new CEO said, ‘I’m thrilled to be joining Oxbotica at such an exciting time in its growth journey. In a short time, the business has already become Europe’s leading autonomous vehicle software provider—and the opportunities for further rapid expansion are endless.’
‘Many industries are primed for autonomy and Oxbotica has a world-changing vision and game-changing software. I’m looking forward to leading the fantastic Oxbotica team through the next stage of their global expansion journey,’ added Tohumcu.
