PTV Innovation Day examines evolving mobility

The way mobility is changing in a digital world is being examined at this year's PTV UK User Group Innovation Day in London.



The event, which takes place near the Museum of London on 27th November, looks at evolving mobility in terms of emerging technologies, the modeller's point of view and also the view of the economist.

Keynote speakers include Ben Foulser of KPMG, Transport for London's Vladimir Vorotovic and PTV Group's own Miller Crockart.

'This will not be a series of dry presentations and PTV Group sales pitches,' explains PTV UK Director Devrim Kara. 'Like our previous User Group meetings, the people who use our modelling software day in day out take centre stage sharing their experiences with real-world case studies, allowing everyone to share best practice and help solve shared challenges.'

These studies include looking at England's National Transport Model, the urban strategy for planning sustainable and smart cities, emissions modelling, dynamic traffic assignment, adaptive traffic signals and the key issue of modelling alternative management of road space for connected and automated vehicles.

Speakers include representatives of Atkins, the Department for Transport, ITS Leeds, Transport for London, Transport Research Laboratory and TNO Netherlands. There will also be workshop sessions looking at advancements in PTV's Vision Suite, including PTV Visum and PTV Vissim/Viswalk.
