London based Predina Tech, the new upcoming leader focusing on predicting and reducing the risk of crashes using smart technology, has appointed a new Chief Technical Officer and a Business Development Director.
CTO Nicolas Jaccard
Nicolas joins Predina from Visulytix, a company using AI to improve screening of eye disease. He spent time working with an international NGO that provides training and surgical equipment for the screening and treatment of eye disease in low-income countries. Together, the project developed an online platform deployed in over 125 countries, having a real impact on people’s lives.
As CTO for Predina, Nicolas will be overseeing all technical activities and making the existing predictive technology scalable, robust, easy to use, and compliant with relevant standards. With his team, he will set out a technology roadmap outlining mid- and long-term plans for data science and software development activities.”
Of his appointment, Nicolas said, “I wanted to continue working on ‘AI for good’ projects. I was immediately sold by the CEO’s vision for the company and road safety in general.”
Business Development Director Guy Barbor
Guy was previously at LexisNexis Risk Solutions, a global leader in the provision of essential information to companies (and government) to assess, predict and manage risk. A telematics veteran in both Usage Based Insurance (UBI) and fleet management, he has worked for other market leading companies including Masternaut (Cybit) and Isotrak.
As Business Development Director for Predina, Guy will be responsible for revenue generation and customer satisfaction.
He said, “I am looking forward to taking Predina’s ground-breaking proposition to market as not only can it help save lives and reduce injuries but it also has a very clear commercial value proposition.”
Bola Adegbulu, CEO and co-founder of Predina, said, “The team is in great shape to grow the company. Currently, we are developing an app that will help drivers plan their journey to minimise crash ‘hot-spots’ or to warn them as they enter higher risk areas. We have our sights on our system being built into vehicles and integrated working with navigation providers, and our consumer app, Waymaker, goes live this autumn.”
“It is Predina’s aim to make this technology as accessible as possible so it can have maximum global impact in the long-term.”
