In the programme brought to you by Smart Highways editor Paul Hutton, you can hear from the CEO of organisers ERTICO Jacob Bangsgaard who calls the event, 'A great opportunity to meet start-ups, big companies involved in interesting projects in the mobility sector and the place to be if you want to find out more about how our mobility will look in the future.'


Professor Eric Sampson, who is Chief Rapporteur at the event, gives his guide to the must-attend sessions at the conference, explaining that 'Too much of anything is wonderful, and that's what the conference is like'.


We hear about the new PTV Mobility Lab with Business Development director Paulo Humanes who talks about his company's concept of a Mobility Lab, 'It closes the cycle and tries to understand the city from a planning perspective and combining it in real time and understanding how disruptive technologies will affect this and use an easy-to-understand interface.'


Finally, Smart Highways editorial member Sharon Kindleysides talks to Diego Isaac from Navya about their autonomous pod and tells her that since it was showcased at the ITS World Congress 2015 in Bordeaux there have been many software improvements and that passengers, 'Some are scared when they first go in the shuttle, but after 30 seconds they are on their phones, reading their book or newspaper so the effect is really quick.'


There are also highlights from the opening ceremony on Monday afternoon.
