The Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) Winter Maintenance Handbook has been launched.
Based on a series of “how to” articles, the main purpose of the handbook is to provide a quick and easy reference guide to help anyone involved in winter service operations to fully appreciate the range of issues they need to be aware of and to offer guidance from several areas of the highways industry in delivering the most appropriate response.
The narrative of this handbook, which has been produced by the IHE in conjunction with Highways Magazine, is taken from the IHE’s Professional Certificate for Winter Services Decision Makers and Managers which is recognised in codes of practice as the benchmark qualification in this area.
A print version of the handbook has also just been distributed with the May issue of Highways and a digital version of the guide is also available for download.
In addition to this, the IHE will be distributing copies of the handbook at a number of national, regional and local events and exhibitions.
