The Road Safety Markings Association (RSMA) has established a software partnership with KDO Software.
RSMA will work closely with KDO to design and develop solutions tailored specifically to the road markings sector.
Over recent years, there has been a huge increase in the availability of mobile technologies which has made them more accessible to small and medium enterprises. Through this partnership sector specific solutions have been developed.
KDO has developed a Mobile DRS product with the aim to improve workflow within existing businesses utilising the latest technologies to do so.
Having witnessed first-hand how this software has improved processes on the road, RSMA national director George Lee felt a partnership was the ideal way forward to help the association’s its members improve their own internal procedures.
He said: "As an association we are always looking for new ways to help our members to drive their business forward while still adhering to the standards promoted by the association and also government and industry initiatives.
"Having spoken to members about their needs we felt there was a real need for software which enabled companies and individuals to not only work smarter and faster but also be 100% compliant.
"Throughout an extensive dialogue process between both parties, as well as members of the association we now feel that we have developed software which will enable them to do this."
The Mobile Lines software provides the complete solution for companies, from enquiry through to quotation and order stage. Orders can be scheduled and the jobs sent out to the mobile workforce using an Android platform.
Workers on the road fill out details about jobs and include camera images and videos, as well as capturing signatures and daily record details. All of this information is transmitted back to the office system where it can be instantly processed into application for payment or an invoice.
Under RSMA specification, KDO has developed a number of features with a real focus on health and safety for the user companies but also for the individual workers. Some of these features include:
• A unique ADR calculator
• First aid and other safety equipment checklists
• Incident management and reporting
• Links to health and safety guidance
Following on from this first phase of the software enhancement, there will be a continuous programme of development which will be user driven and overseen by the RSMA as part of its ongoing commitment to members.
The partnership will be officially launched at Road Expo Scotland in November.
