ASI signs £100m Chinese road deal

ASI Solutions has struck a £100m deal with Huali - a wholly owned subsidiary of the China Highway Engineering Consulting Group Company Limited - to provide its specialist road preservative product Rhinophalt for China’s ambitious transport infrastructure plans.

The product protects against road surface deterioration and will enable China to focus its infrastructure investment on new build rather than repairs to existing roads.

The agreement will see Huali being supported by ASI personnel during 2011 on a range of projects including major highways and an airport.

It is an interim step, allowing the introduction of Rhinophalt into China whilst a full distribution contract is agreed.

The agreement was confirmed this week at an international signing in Beijing and was witnessed by HRH the Duke of York, Special Representative for Trade and Investment.
