Canadian based RideShark Corporation has released a direct-to-consumer platform that lets regular commuters fill their empty seats with passengers.
The new gobyRIDE app is designed specifically for drivers and passengers who want to share a ride, with the cost of the trip shared based on agreed mileage rates.
The company says gobyRIDE represents an opportunity for drivers to securely post their trip for passengers to join, or letting passengers post a ride request. Once a ride request or ride offer is confirmed, the trip is booked. gobyRIDE processes the payment from the passenger to the driver automatically. Both driver and passengers are then encouraged to rate their trip, which serves to benefit future riders when selecting a compatible match.
gobyRIDE features include in-app payments, real-time in-app communications to protect privacy and dynamic LiveMap™ mapping, letting both the driver and passenger view or share the trip with their friends, in real time. The company says this provides that extra peace of mind and lets others know where you are.
