The Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) has recently opened nominations for several vacancies available on its National Council.
Overall, eight seats are becoming available and details have been emailed out to all IHE members and can also be found on the IHE website.
Sitting on the IHE Council allows members to help steer the Institute’s strategy and direction for the future.
Any corporate member of the IHE can seek nomination to sit on the Council, and all members are encouraged to support the Institute by considering putting themselves forward for election.
Nominees will be expected to dedicate at least five days per year to support the IHE as part of their role as a council member, three of which will be for attendance at Council meetings and two days per year supporting the IHE in attendance at national events such as exhibitions and conferences.
Nominations were opened this week and will close on Friday 29 March 2024.
IHE CEO Steve Spender (pictured) said: ‘Being a member of IHE’s National Council is not only member’s opportunity to help steer the Institute’s future direction and have a voice in that process, but it is also an enjoyable role at the heart of an institute run by its members for its members. I would encourage every member to consider nominating themselves if they can.’
The new Council roles will commence following the AGM planned for Friday 21 June 2024.
