More than 200 trade contractors and suppliers have already received briefings on potential work opportunities on the £600m Mersey Gateway Project.
Members of the north west branch of the Civil Engineering Contractors Association were to the fore during the events at the Catalyst Museum in Widnes last week.

Cllr Rob Polhill, Leader of Halton Borough Council, said: “We have attracted worldwide interest when it comes to the three consortia who we have now shortlisted to be the main project company, but it is clear that there will be significant sub-contracting opportunities for a wide range of businesses as the project moves forward.
“I was delighted to see so many businesses from Halton and the wider region at the events over the past week, and am looking forward to the plans developing.”
Matthew Fearnhead from the Mersey Gateway Project team said: “We are still at a very early stage in the competitive dialogue process with the main bidders, so these events were a chance for us to hear from potential suppliers and to give a broad outline of the plans and likely opportunities moving forward.”
Roger Morgan, from CECA NW, said: “Mersey Gateway is a very important project for the north west region, and I think it is important that we all work hard to do everything possible to make businesses aware of the opportunities it will bring.”
