The Institute of Highway Engineers (IHE) has renewed its support for the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Highway Maintenance.
The APPG aims to promote understanding and awareness of the fundamental importance of the highway network, and to promote the safety, environmental, economic, and social case for a properly maintained sustainable network in the UK.
IHE chief executive Richard Hayes said the Institute had supported the APPG for many years, and would continue its involvement following its reformation after the recent General Election.
He said: ?The IHE has reaffirmed its commitment to the APPG on highway maintenance through a joint arrangement with the Asphalt Industry Alliance (AIA).
?We will continue to work with APGG to promote understanding and awareness of the fundamental importance of the highway network. It is vital that the highway network, one of the UK’s most important economic assets, is properly and sustainably managed and maintained. The IHE, along with our APPG partners, will continue to work towards this outcome.?
